How I charge
If you’re interested in using my services, then I will visit your garden and we can talk about what you need doing - perhaps over a nice cup of tea!
I will then leave you in peace and go away to put together a free no obligation written quote for you.
I will never give you a quote there and then as I feel this doesn’t give you time to think about whether you want to go ahead or not.
When putting together a quote for you, I will take in to account a number of factors such as:
- What type of work needs to be done
- What tools are needed for the job
- How long will the job take
- Do I need to remove any garden waste
- What distance do I need to travel to get to and from the job
- Are there any access issues
- Is this a one-off or regular job
Once the quote is complete I will email it to you. The quote will set out what I will do for you and how much I will charge.
If you do want to go ahead, then you can call, text or email me and I can book you in for a date and time that suits you.
How you can pay me for a job well done!
Once I have completed the job and you are happy with the work I have done I will send you an invoice with details of how much you owe and how you can pay me.
I would be very grateful if you could pay me within 24 hours of the job being completed as this really helps keep me jolly!
Why don’t I charge an hourly rate?
Because each garden, and therefore each job, is unique, I won’t charge you a set hourly rate.
I know many gardeners do charge by the hour but in my view one hour spent weeding in a garden five minutes down the road should be cheaper than one hour spent reducing a 20 foot conifer hedge in a garden which is a 30 minute drive away. As well as the extra costs in fuel and maintenance of specialised machinery, I believe the increased risk of working at height should be fairly compensated.
